On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, the E.M.T./Firefighter students from William D. Ford Career-Technical Center spent the day teaching 50 very excited and interested pre-school students and their parents from the Sunshine and Rainbows pre-school program about fire safety. The high school students took time to explain how important it is to practice safety.  The used great care in explaining what firefighters do and, while showing the pre-schoolers their firefighting gear, allowed them to try on some of the more manageable pieces.  On average, a firefighter can add about 70 pounds of firefighting gear to their body when working to put out a fire.
